What happens to the "trash" we recover from the ocean & waterways?

We are actively working to stop, intercept and collect trash from the ocean and waterways in the most direct way we know how; by getting our hands dirty. But what happens to the ocean trash we remove?

All the trash recovered from our cleanup campaigns is sorted by material, category and size. Everything that can be recycled, gets recycled. The trash that can't be recycled or if the environmental costs of doing so are way too high, this trash gets sent to municipal waste.

RECYCLABLE OCEAN TRASH RECOVERED

We love recycling. We've partnered with local recycling centers and green factories in those areas where we do our clean up campaigns. By doing this, we are able to turn as much ocean trash into innovative products and fabrics while we keep our carbon footprint to almost net-zero.

NON-RECYCLABLE OCEAN TRASH RECOVERED

Those items that cannot be recycled, get sent to municipal waste. We have signed an agreement with local governments around the areas where we operate to safely dispose of all the trash that our factories can't recycle.

When we do not have the capacity to recycle this trash, it is either burned or destructed in smaller pieces to be used in different industries for example construction.

PRODUCTS MADE FROM OCEAN TRASH

We have developed a revolutionary process that turns plastic collected during our ocean and beach clean ups into innovative materials, from which we make new, durable and valuable products.
